DiMuto, the AI-native agri-food technology company, today announced it has signed a Marketeer Distributor Participation Agreement (the “Agreement”) with The Giumarra Companies, one of the oldest and most established fresh produce organizations in the Americas. Under the Agreement, growers and suppliers across the Giumarra network will have access to DiMuto’s two services: Verifiable Workflow, in which DiMuto’s AI agents digitize and verify each trade, and Financing, which turns that verified trade record into working capital.

The fresh produce industry operates on tight timelines and complex commercial arrangements, creating unique financing challenges across the supply chain. Growers ship perishable products and may wait 30 to 60 days to receive payment while continuing to fund harvesting, packaging, transportation, and other costs. Traditional financing solutions are not always designed to accommodate perishable products, fragmented transaction documentation, and industry pricing structures. This dynamic can create significant working capital pressures, particularly for smaller and mid-sized growers.

The Agreement helps address this challenge by pairing verified supply chain data with financing. Suppliers transact on the DiMuto platform, where trade documents are digitized and every carton can carry AI-verified quality, origin, and traceability data.

Verifiable Workflow, run by AI agents

DiMuto is AI-native, and its own AI agents do the work that trade finance has traditionally left to back offices. When a purchase order or invoice arrives by email, an agent reads the document, extracts the commercial terms, matches the buyer, supplier, and products against platform records, and builds the trade contract. Where every match is clear, the contract is created automatically. Where it is not, the agent passes it to a person with the specific questions that need answering, and it learns from each correction so the same wording resolves on its own next time. At the packhouse, PQAI computer vision grades produce carton by carton. Before any trade is financed, a compliance agent screens the counterparties for identity, sanctions, adverse media, and financial risk, with a person signing off each decision. Each trade is digitized and verified as it happens, so it is ready to finance without being rebuilt from paperwork.

“Growers have never had a financing problem. They have had a proof problem,” said Gary Loh, Founder and CEO of DiMuto. “When a shipment is documented, inspected, and verified end to end, the risk stops being a guess. Our AI agents already do that work, from the first document through to underwriting. This Agreement puts that verified record at the center of one of the most respected networks in the produce industry, and it means a grower’s own track record, not their balance sheet, becomes the basis on which they get paid faster. That is what we mean by Verifiable Commerce.”

What it means for suppliers

The Agreement is designed to remove the friction that has kept many growers out of trade finance:

  • No lengthy application process. Suppliers already trading within Giumarra’s network are pre-qualified through their existing commercial relationship, rather than starting from a blank credit application.
  • Financing that fits how produce is sold. The program is built to work across fixed-price, minimum-guarantee, and consignment arrangements, not only the fixed-price invoices that conventional factoring can accommodate.
  • Faster access to cash after shipment. AI agents read and verify trade documents as they arrive, replacing manual invoice checks and reducing the wait between shipping and being paid.
  • Fewer quality disputes. Objective, timestamped quality data captured at the packhouse gives both sides the same evidence, reducing the deductions that cut into a grower’s margin after the produce has already left.
  • Traceability records that serve double duty. The same data that supports financing also supports the traceability records the industry increasingly requires, including under the FDA’s Food Traceability Rule (FSMA Section 204).

For many growers, the harder question has never been the cost of finance but whether they can qualify for it at all. Lenders typically ask for audited financial statements, collateral, or a credit history, and a grower who has shipped reliably for 20 years may have very little of that on paper. Under the Agreement, the trade itself becomes the qualification. The documents, inspections, and carton-level records a supplier already produces when it ships are what a financier reviews, and that record carries forward from one season to the next instead of starting over with each application.

“Our business has been built over more than a century on relationships with the people who grow high-quality produce,” said Tim Riley, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Giumarra Companies. “We are always looking for ways to support the success of our suppliers. Working with DiMuto allows us to offer our grower network something genuinely useful: greater visibility into their own trade and faster access to funds, without changing how they do business with us.”

How this differs from conventional factoring

For financiers, the difference is in what the credit decision can see. A conventional factor underwrites the invoice and the buyer’s payment history. With perishable goods, that misses where most of the risk sits: losses in fresh produce come less often from a buyer failing to pay than from rejection, shrink, and quality disputes after shipment. Because the trade is carried out on the DiMuto platform and processed by its AI agents, each receivable comes with evidence of how the trade actually performed, including trade documents, pre- and post-shipment inspections, Incoterms, shipping data, and carton-level scan records. DiMuto scores that evidence through its Trade Health Score at both the trade and the counterparty level. Facilities are structured and recourse-managed rather than a straight purchase of invoices, and each trade remains visible from shipment through to settlement instead of being pieced together after a problem arises.

Why it matters for the industry

Fresh produce has been one of the last segments of global trade to digitize, and one of the least well served by finance. Suppliers are being asked to meet rising expectations on food safety, traceability, and sustainability reporting at the same time as they absorb longer payment cycles and thinner margins. Meeting those expectations with paper is no longer realistic.

By making verified trade data the foundation for both compliance and credit, the Agreement points to a model the wider industry can adopt: digitize once, and use the same record to prove quality to a buyer, prove provenance to a regulator, and prove creditworthiness to a financier. For the growers at the start of the chain, that is the difference between being an unbankable counterparty and a documented one.

Availability

The program will roll out in phases, beginning with an initial group of suppliers in Mexico and California, and expanding across Giumarra’s network and additional origin countries as onboarding progresses. Financing is offered through DiMutoPay and is subject to program eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and available funding capacity. Suppliers in the Giumarra network can register their interest through their existing commercial contact or at dimuto.io.
